Is Consistency or Intensity More Important?

Today we've got 3 things we don't want you to miss... including the answer to that question in our newest Blog, plus a coaching moment with Miranda on that little RX button and what really matters AND your chance to sign up for Small Group Nutrition Coaching.

STORY PROBLEM...

Imagine you wanted to travel 1000 miles (on foot) - as fast as possible. You have exactly 1 hour to travel as far as you can each day. What’s the quickest way to reach 1000 mile mark?

Maybe not what you’d think.

Go ahead - on Day 1 run as hard as you can for an hour. Try it again on Days 2-3... surely this plan is completely sustainable for the 100 or so days you are going to need to keep it up for, right?!?

You might see the direction this plan is headed. But still, this is how most people initially attack their fitness, weight loss, nutrition, and habit change goals. Like Bruce Banner running at a brick wall.

We know the likeliness of you wanting to travel 1000 miles on foot is pretty low, so how does this actually apply to YOU?

So let's say you’ve started working out (again) - or maybe you’ve been working out for awhile. Chances are you find yourself in one of the following 3 categories:

  1. You are consistent but lack intensity

  2. You have intensity but are NOT consistent

  3. You are consistent AND have intensity

When it comes to how we view and treat our fitness, every single one of us is going to find ourselves in one of the above 3 categories. One of them will produce results (but oftentimes much slower than we’d like), one of them will produce results quickly followed by the majority of us quitting because it isn’t sustainable, and one of them will produce results that are ideal for both our short and long term lifestyles.

Keep reading HERE to see how it turned out for the sprinter in the Story Problem scenario - and how ALL of us can learn to use intensity appropriately - aligned with the also important (and often times neglected) principle of CONSISTENCY.

ABOUT RX, GOAL TIMES AND WHAT MATTERS...

If you are part of the Street Parking Members Facebook group, you may have seen one of Miranda's most recent posts about RX, modifications, scaling, goal times and how we at SP will one day do away with the RX 'button'. We know that not all of you are on Facebook, but it was so important we don't want you to miss it!

SMALL GROUP NUTRITION COACHING

Did you know we offer Street Parking Nutrition Small Group Coaching?

This is a 6-week program where we help Street Parking members integrate into the template life with support to help you find sustainable success. The groups are limited to 75 people per group. You must be an active Street Parking Member to participate!

Through the 6-week program you will learn:

  • How to balance your plate and the importance of each of the 3 macronutrients (protein, carbohydrate and fat).

  • How to follow a structured approach for gradually going from your current way of eating to the template.

  • How to maneuver through special situations: weekends, vacations and traveling for work.

  • The mindset for success when it comes to nutrition to help improve the chances of this being a long-term, lasting change.

  • The important thing to know is this is NOT a 6 week nutrition challenge! There will be no points that you will have to log. This is all about supporting you in building long lasting habits. Our goal is to guide and educate you to be successful in living the #templatelife.

Who is this support group for? This group is for someone that bought a template and was too overwhelmed to start because of so many changes at once. This would also be for someone that has been wanting to try the templates, but perhaps too intimidated or uncertain to start.

Who is this support group NOT for? The support group is NOT for someone that has been following the templates for a long time and has no issues weighing and measuring their foods.
