WINTER'S COMING....

Ok, we know our Aussie SP Members are stoked - it's almost summer for you guys!  But over here in the US, Europe, and Canada it's about to get cold.  Really cold for some.

Being a garage gym athlete (or worse and outdoor completely athlete) sounds great - until the temperatures drop. But we've got this - here are 6 tips to surviving the colder months:
 

GLOVES.
The number one complaint about training in the cold is gripping the cold metal with your hands.  It's almost unbearable.  Gloves like these Mechanix ones are still going to give you an OK grip, but make the sting a little less painful.
BRING YOUR METAL STUFF INSIDE!
This obviously won't work for things like your pull up bar, but dumbbells, kb and barbell can be stored right inside the door so they aren't so freezing when you pick them up!  Heck - we are all about just DOING the fitness inside too!  Plenty of our members do this year round!
BUNDLE UP!!
Layers are key though.  Most members will agree that once you get going - it's not so bad.  Wear what you need to in order to stay warm while you are getting moving - but be prepared to strip stuff off as you go!
INSULATE YOUR GARAGE DOOR
Many members said this helped A LOT!  If you google DIY Garage Door Insulation - or head over to your local hardware store, I am sure they can give you all of the info you need to get this done!
GET A SPACE HEATER
You don't need to spend a TON of money to make a difference.  The space isn't massive, and chances are you will only need a corner for your workout.  Remember if you use propane, that you need ventilation!  Keep it clear from anything that can catch ablaze and you are set!

STREET PARKING IS PROUD TO HAVE BEEN ASKED TO HELP PROGRAM THE WODAPALOOZA ONLINE CHALLENGE AND QUALIFIER!  THE CHALLENGE STARTS OCT 3!

Now, of course - we ARE NOT and NEVER WILL BE a program geared toward the "competitive" side of fitness.  BUT - it's not because our workouts - YOUR workouts - are easier or not as effective as those of "competitor programs".  It's because the core values of SP are to get fit in a short time, with limited space and equipment for most of us, and get on with your lives!  Our lives are full of taking care of kids, working, running businesses, going to school, or protecting our countries.  It's not that we aren't fit enough to compete - but many of us just don't prioritize training for stuff like that because - WE'VE GOT OTHER SH*T TO DO!!

Some of the head honchos over at Wodapalooza are members of Street Parking for all of the reasons listed above.  They know how hard you guys go, and how brutal our workouts can be.  That's why we were invited to throw some of the SP flavor in this year!

We are pumped to watch some of the best athletes in the world do some nasty dumbbell workouts for sure - but what we are REALLY pumped about?  Involving all of you and giving ONE of you a free trip for 2 to come hang with us and watch the competition in January!

The cool thing about Wodapalooza is that they have a LOT of divisions for their Online Challenge and Qualifier. This Challenge is not meant just for those trying to make it to the main competition.  It is inclusive to all levels and a fun way for people to participate.  We would love to see as many of you that are comfortable actually sign up and represent SP as your "affiliate" when you are entering your info!  We think it would be SUPER cool to see a bunch of us on the various leaderboards.

They have every option you can think of, teens, masters, scaled, intermediate, RX, Elite.  We will be programming the workouts that we created anyway!  Our staff will all be signing up and playing along just for fun!  It's $25 to sign up and be official on the WZA leaderboard etc.

(There is also a super fun team option that starts Nov 2.  You don't have to physically BE WITH the other 2 members of your team - so you could even team up with other SP Members!)

You DON'T however have to sign up in order to be entered for the GIVEAWAY!

Because some of you don't have access to all of the equipment you will need to do the workouts as written for the competition - you will need a rower for example - we didn't think it would be fair for us to REQUIRE you to officially participate in the Challenge to be entered to win.

Here IS what you will need to do, if you want to be eligible to win the trip for 2 and come hang with us in Miami!

- Do an IG post (you don't have to be public) about how you are pumped that Street Parking helped to program Wodapalooza and that our crew will be doing versions of the workouts in our regular programming. Use the #StreetParkingWZA (Post can be a pic or vid.  Whatever you want!)

- Post during the 3 weeks of the Challenge as much or as little as you want using the #StreetParkingWZA showing you doing the workouts either officially or the modified SP Version that we make to fit Programs A, B, and C like always!

- The more times you post, the more entries you will get.  The winner will be chosen through a drawing with all entries coming from posts using the #!

-Make sure if you enter - you know you can come!

- Winner can be from anywhere in the world!

Are you ready to be successful this fall and head into the holiday season better prepared???

Last year, this was the challenge that started them all!  Last year we had paper scoresheets and it was all very new to us.  Now, this will be our 5th Challenge and we couldn't be more pumped!

For those of you that have a Nutrition Template from ANY time (from Jacked by June or have purchased one since) will be able to use them, and the cost is only $20!

If you don't have a template yet, you will still just pay the $20 and will get a coupon for $10 off of your template so you can use it to follow along!  Ask any of the members who have used the templates/have done challenges and they will tell you:

If you're trying to decide whether it's for you or not, I can tell you it is!  The templates are super simple to follow and make your life so easy!! Meal prep will be your best friend (it won't take long either). 
Stick to the regular SP workouts and the inches fall off. 

Everyone will share recipes with you. There are super creative ways you can make your meals very tasty with limited ingredients.  You're going to learn habits that you will take with you after this challenge has finished ... 

You may not want to lose weight? That's ok because there's a performance/maintenance option!"

We will be taking a little bit from each of our previous challenges and combining them into one BIG AMAZING challenge. As we go through the weeks if you get to a point where you feel like you’re challenged- stick with that and don’t add more! This challenge is about YOU and what you want to get out of it. 

Weeks 1st and 2nd we will be focusing on the quality of our food and how to make better food choices. 

The 3rd Week we will add in some very basic ways to portion out your 
food using your palm

The 4th and 5th week we will introduce more specific weighing and measuring utilizing the serving sizes on your template! 

The final week we will cover how to implement the template beyond the challenge. We will give you the tools to have an 80/20 approach and include some food items you enjoy that are off the list! 

Use this as your support group to get through the holiday season and finish 2018 Strong!!
